Finding Freedom in Forgiveness

It's amazing how often we try to earn God's forgiveness through our own efforts. We might think if we just try harder, do better, or prove ourselves worthy, then God will forgive us. But that's not how God's forgiveness works. Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died for our sins precisely because we couldn't fix our sin problem on our own. When we accept this truth, we find true freedom - not in our own efforts, but in Christ's finished work on our behalf.

In what ways have you been trying to earn God's forgiveness instead of simply receiving it as a gift?

Dear God, thank You for Your free gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Help me to fully receive and rest in Your grace today. In Jesus's name, Amen.
